In The Yard Exotics LLC was founded by Andrew Logsdon, a Navy veteran, husband, father, and lifelong animal enthusiast. While Andrew had always been interested in all animals, his wife wasn’t a fan of snakes—at least not at first. She came around to some of the smaller species and even found them “cute,” but set one clear boundary: any enclosure in the house would be limited to three feet, knowing Andrew would only keep species that could be responsibly housed within that space.
That constraint became the foundation of the business. Instead of working against it, Andrew leaned into it—focusing on snakes that stay small, are manageable, and are well-suited for beginner keepers. What started as a practical decision at home grew into a niche built around realistic setups and long-term success. Today, Andrew continues to work with those species while remaining a reliable resource for customers throughout the life of their animal.
